One of the most common questions I get from parents before their first booking is some version of this: do I need to do anything before you arrive?

The honest answer is very little. But a small amount of preparation on your end does make the whole evening run more smoothly, so here is exactly what to expect and what to do before I show up.

How Much Space Do You Need?

Each teepee takes up roughly the same floor space as a single mattress plus a little breathing room either side. For a party of four you are looking at clearing a space roughly the size of two sofas pushed back.

Most standard living rooms can comfortably fit four to six teepees once the furniture is moved. We are used to working in all kinds of spaces so do not panic if your living room is not huge. Get in touch before booking if you are unsure and we can talk it through.

Moving the Furniture

You do not need to do this before I arrive but it does save time if you can. If you can push the sofa back, move the coffee table out and clear the floor, setup goes much faster. The more floor space to work with, the better the final layout tends to look.

Flooring

Teepee sleepover setups work on carpet, wood floors and tiles. We bring our own mattresses and bedding so the type of flooring is never a problem.

On the Day of Setup

I usually arrive one to two hours before the party begins. The exact time is confirmed when you book. All I ask is that the area is reasonably clear and that any pets are kept out of the room during setup. Dogs especially tend to have strong opinions about the cushion arrangements.

Once I arrive I handle everything from start to finish. The teepees, the bedding, the lighting, the tray dressing, the finishing touches. You do not need to help unless you want to.

The Morning After

Collection happens the morning after the party, usually between 9am and 11am. I dismantle and remove everything so you do not have to deal with a thing. Let the children have their breakfast and I take care of the rest.

What Do You Need to Provide?

Nothing. Everything needed for the party comes with us. Teepees, mattresses, bedding, cushions, lights, trays and all theme accessories are included. All you need to bring is the guests.
